Purpose of the role

The Regional Team Leader proactively manages all Biomedical Operations in their assigned region and is responsible for managing all field-based staff within the region as applicable. Ensuring that all engineers provide daily on-site repair, preventative maintenance, and asset management of medical devices within specified hospital locations in the region. To work with and support other Regional Team Leaders in achieving contract KPIs across all regions and to build long term relationships with customers, subcontractors and staff to ensure responsiveness and support are provided to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, induct, develop, and support a team of Biomed Engineers to deliver excellent customer satisfaction and meet contractual KPIs.
  • Have responsibility for all aspects of Biomedical engineering performance within the region, including externally serviced devices.
  • Supervise the workload of all technical staff within the region, allocating team members as needed to optimise productivity.
  • Conduct final approval of all regional jobs to check for data accuracy and correct completion.
  • Set goals and objectives for subordinates and provide annual assessments and feedback.
  • Ensure statistical information is produced, collated and analysed regularly to evaluate the performance of the team.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) on medical equipment as per manufacturer’s guidelines when required.
  • Complete repairs as required on medical equipment as per manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Complete associated admin needed to close repairs and PMs as outlined in Ergéa Standard Operating
  • Procedures. • Maintain safe working practices within the hospital environment.
  • Work within the requirements and guidelines of the Ergéa management system policies and procedures.
  • Work to maintain a high standard of customer service and protect your health and safety and that of your colleagues, our customers, and members of the public.
  • Promptly raise any concerns regarding potential violations of the policies.
  • Actively seek opportunities to grow Ergéa business.
  • Actively seek out and promote ways to improve productivity and reduce operating expenditure.
  • Coordinate and attend customer meetings as required.
  • Directly support the UK Biomedical Field Service Manager as needed.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for insourcing of externally serviced devices.

Additional Duties

  • Oversee scheduling and completion of workload for all engineers within region.
  • Maintain service documentation in line with business requirements.
  • Responsible for escalating and defining necessary resources to maintain equipment.
  • Liaise with 3rd party suppliers for spare part and contract quotations.
  • Ensure data integrity within Ergéa management systems.
  • Responsible for delivering excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Liaise with OEM service staff and management when required.
  • Maintain tools and test equipment in line with Ergéa Standards • Maintain spare part stock wherever necessary.
  • Provide operational support to engineering team to ensure minimal loss of service coverage.
  • Complete mandatory training courses as required.
  • Any other reasonable request or project request as required

Capability profile

Qualifications

Certified OEM trainings Essential
Qualification in Engineering, electronics or medical technologies such as biomedical engineering, desirably at Bachelor’s level, or equivalent experience Essential
Registration with professional body(s), such as IPEM, RCT, etc. Desirable

Skills

Familiarity with appropriate national and local regulatory standards Essential
Minimum of 5 years staff management Desirable
Has worked in clinical areas and involving patient communication Essential
Competent with a broad range of medical devices Essential
Ability to follow complex instructions and processes Essential
Hold a clean UK driving licence Essential
